The Rummo & Koko Show

Marc Britton aka Rummo (Guitar, Vocals)

Marc grew up in Pittsburgh with his brother Flip. He started at a young age on piano then picked up clarinet, soon playing clarinet trios with Flip and Dad for community functions. Eventually, Marc moved on to sax. His father had a Baritone ukulele and chord book always handy in the living room and at about the age of ten Marc started fooling around with the uke. A few years later, after starting his first group The Rav'ns, in which he was the sax player, Marc got his first guitar to "have something to do in the songs that didn't have horn parts". That started the love affair with the instrument. Today, he has a collection of about 29 stringed instruments including acoustics, electrics, banjos and a mandolin.

Marc attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania because of the 3:1 women-to-men ratio, but in spite of that, he eventually did graduate with a music degree. In the summers between semesters Flip and Marc still played together in summer bands. When Marc graduated he knew that he wanted to play music full time (possibly due to the lure of an even better women-to-men ratio - you know how guitar players are). He formed the band SYN that played in the greater tri-state area for many years. Flip joined about a year later. SYN was known for unique instrumentation and arrangements of popular top 40 rock tunes, progressive rock and originals. They had some local success in 1980 with a self-produced album called "Cast the First Stone".

When the group disbanded Marc joined an all original band in the area called Picture This along with his long time friend John Knobler, and then was drafted along with brother Flip into the popular local band Witness. Marc left Witness in the mid-nineties and played in another local favorite band Egdon Heath (again with John) for a few years. Besides working in The Rummo and Koko Show, Marc plays in a popular local band with brother Flip called The Hot Ticket http://www.hotticketband.com

John Knobler aka Koko (Bass, Vocals)

John Knobler hails from Norristown, PA.  Along with his brother Jim, John formed the rock band named Egdon Heath immediately out of high school that played around the tri-state area until November of 2004.

John plays five-string acoustic and electric basses as the lovable buffoon Koko in The Rummo and Koko Show, shares lead vocals and adds humor when appropriate ... or not!

John is the proud papa to five (count 'm - 5) healthy and happy kids, ranging in ages from  7 to 27 years old! Gee, that makes him about...

He lives in East Norriton with his lovely wife Meg who happens to be a gourmet chef. It is a wonder that he manages to stay slim and trim.
